Description:
This class is open to all skill levels. Basic drawing skills are helpful but not essential. Students will experience the sculptural process from idea through the completed piece. We will be working with various materials and the tools needed to manipulate those materials. The difference between additive and subtractive sculpture will be explored and each student will complete 1-2 pieces following the process of idea-drawing-model-shaping and completing form. Students will be working on similar and more traditional sculptural design such as animals, masks, etc. The focus will be to develop a familiarity with materials, tools and safe work practices. There will be a $25 tool and materials fee to be paid to instructor on the first day of class.
